Kirk and his wife, Denise have two children, Lucas and Michael. The family resides in Sammamish, WA.

- Started two years at second base for a top ten ranked D1 baseball program
- All-American West Coast honors 1984. Batting .381
- All-WAC Championship first team at second base 1984
- Nominated for Academic All-American Senior year. Hitting .350

- Graduated with an Associate in Arts degree. 3.4 GPA
- Started two years at shortstop earning All NWCC honors both years
