Brian Mitchell

Coach Mitchell currently serves as the Director of Baseball Operations at Sammamish Baseball Academy. Presently, he is the 17U coach for Michael’s Toyota, the pitching coordinator for the 16U Steelheads and runs various clinics and camps for SBA. Last year, Coach Mitchell worked directly with the Skyline High School baseball pitchers including the freshman, JV and Varsity teams.

Prior to playing two years in the Western International League, Coach Mitchell pitched for the NCAA Division I, #3 ranked Brigham Young University Cougars. He was a member of the 1981 Western Athletic Conference championship team that also participated in the NCAA Regional final in Austin, Texas. Unfortunately, his collegiate career ended his junior year due to an arm injury. Coach Mitchell was a three-sport varsity letterman at Woodway High School in Edmonds, WA, all Wesco in football and basketball, and aside from being recruited for baseball from several colleges, was recruited by the University of Washington for crew. He was undefeated his Senior year and was chosen as the MVP of the Washington State Baseball tournament after throwing a no-hitter in the State Championship game against Lakes of Tacoma, which lead the state with a .380 team batting average. Coach Mitchell previously has served as a ski instructor for the OUTDOORFORALL racing program, as a former Scoutmaster for Troop 558 and as the Architectural Committee Chairman for the Klahanie Board. Coach Mitchell currently resides in Issaquah, WA, is married and has four children.
