The week that was

Sammamish Baseball Academy

Despite the soggy weather the Mariners kicked off the season in Japan.  Unless your an early riser or night owl chacnes are you didn’t see the game live at 3:15am.  Felix was up to his usual self in the opener.  Dustin Ackley looks like the real deal and Ichiro looks to have put last season behind him.  Going 4-5 in the opener.  The last Mariner to collect four hits on opening day was Ken Griffey Jr. in 1996.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were sold to a group led by Magic Johnson for a record 2 billion dollars.  WOW! Better start buying those Mega Million tickets if you want to purchase a MLB Baseball team.

Skyline HS Baseball improved to 3-0 in conference with wins over Eastlake and Newport.  The Wolves (2-0 in conference) battled hard and tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the seventh but a walk-off double by Partick Harrod scoring Brandon Fischer saved the day for the Spartans.  Josh Baorkas pitched a heck of a game for Eastlake.  Matt Lundy and Corbin Powers pitched well against the Knights for a 6-2 win.  Not bad for a team picked to finish second to last in Crest Division.

The 10U Spartans Green team got off to a fantastic start winning the Early Bird Classic.  The Spartans destroyed the Yakima Rebels in the Championship game 12-0!!! Great job!
