SBA Tigers vs stods Wolfpack

game #1 was a 12-3 victory by the hot SBA Tiger team.  Paxton Klein, Moose Reid and Drew Tenzcar held the Wolfpack bats to just 3 runs over 6 innings.  Clayton Waltz had a big day going 2-3 with 3 RBI’s.  Paxton added 2 hits with a double and 2 RBI’s while Ben Hagen added 3RBI’s.  In game #2 the Tigers posted a 10-2 win over the same Wolfpack team.  Jack Carper continued his hot pitching streak and was joined by Ben Hagen, Connor Barrison, and Adam Carper to hold the Wolfpack to only 2 runs.  Erick Moulton had a single, Connor Barrison added a double while the Tigers put up 10 more runs.

SBA 8u Wolves lost two tight games over the weekend dropping the first game 8-3 and the second game 6-0.  These are two very talented 8U squads and the pitching and Defense have been amazing all season.  In the first game:  The Wolves led off with 3 consecutive singles by Bennet Jones, Jackson Werner, and Andrew Maciver.  Seamus Brown added a awesome defensive play in the 2nd inning and then stepped up to the plate in the 3rd inning and hit a bomb over everyone’s head for a run scoring triple!  To end the game our Wolves pulled off a triple play 9-1-6.

SBA Cougars were short handed but came to play as they had to face 2 year round select teams.  First up was the all americans who beat the Cougars 11-4.  In the first inning, Duncan Warriner walked, stole 2nd, stole 3rd and then walked home on Lane Kraabel’s hard hit single.  Duncan on the day stole 6 bags and had 2 RBI’s!  Jason Hunt added another RBI while Jackson Subcleff continued his hot fall ball by playing outstanding behind the plate and coming up with some big hits at the plate!  The Cougars held down the powerful Outlaws in game 2 and lost 8-2.

In what is becoming a grudge match…The SBA Wildcats won a tight one against the SBA Mustangs 10-9. For the Mustangs…Michael Crystal led off the 1st and 3rd innings with a double…Both times, Tohma Sugimoto knocked him in with a single!  Sean Kim went 1-1 with a single and 2 bb’s.  Danny Wate left his feet at 2b and made an amazing diving play.  Michael Crystal went 3 and 2/3 innings and only gave up 5 runs.  Game two was a tough loss to Stods..Defensive Highlights for the Mustangs…Isaac Subclef was stellar behind the plate!  He threw a bullet down to 2b where Michael Crystal made a great pick and tag!  Noah Summers made a leaping try at 2b to knock down a hard hit liner and stayed with it to throw the runner out at 1b.  Luca Ernst tracks down a deep fly to center field to make an amazing catch!

The SBA Wildcats highlights:  They loss the tough one to the Mustangs and then lost a tough one to the Stods red team 8-7.  Spencer Murray recorded 4K on the mound, Ryan Sutter had 3 single and 2 RBI’s on the day…Ethan Tipp had a walk 2 SB, and a run scored, Grant Wagman was outstanding behind the plate and added 2 singles.  Adam Westmoreland struck out 3 while pitching.  Tyler Tyson had a huge 2 run triple.  Tristan Coggan added 2 walks and 4 SB’s.  Trishan Amruther added 3 doubles and struck out 4!  Braeden Titus added 2 more doubles while Danny Wate added two singles!  Way to go Wildcats!

SBA Knights psoted 11-2 victory over he SBA Spartans in the first game:  Henry Weibke was un-hittable going 3 innings and recording 7 strikeouts.  Logan Reeves added 2 RBI’s.  For the Spartans, Justin Sakamoto had a great defensive play on a hard hit line drive and turned it into a double play!  Colin Gale had a great running play in RF.  Will Baker continued to impress with great at bats and good patience at the plate.  In game 2 the Knights lost to the Stods team 14-9…Griffin McCauley stole 2 bases while Henry Webkie added a rbi single.  Logan Reeves pitched and struck out the side in the 3rd inning.  Sean Hakala made a great throw from CF to get a guy at 3B.

The Spartans lost their second game 12-5 to the Stods team.  Evan Wate pitched awesome…shutting out the stods team in the 2nd inning!  Drew Harris added a huge 2 run double to help spark the Spartans in the 3rd inning as they put up 4 runs!  The game ended when the Spartans turned a triple play!
